A Great Read; McKelvie Tops Leg 7

It was seven heaven last week when Chris seven7777777s Brider became the latest entrant into the Second Chance SNG; this Tuesday, seven was the magic number once again as Craig ChipRead77 McKelvie won leg 7 of the latest Black Belt Poker League.

ChipRead77 topped a field of 89 that included Green Belt Richard generalshifty Hurst (70th), Mulligan terminator Kevin S0lution Birt, and even Black Belt and Captain Carp Sam KODDZILLA Razavi. ChipRead77 won $122.41 for his troubles, toppling reigning league Champion Mark bornTOflirt Atkinson heads-up to capture the crown.

1st ChipRead77 -- $122.41
2nd bornTOflirt -- $82.32
3rd JHobbit1 -- $62.30

10th GunnerBish -- $11.12
11th ACarey -- $11.12

The final table lineup also featured the umpteenth appearance of Adam JHobbit1 Saunders, who is taking the 13th League by storm and is a stroll-in-the-park away from cementing his free seat into the East End Live. In fact, only Armageddon can scupper his plans as he pulls into an even more crushing lead with just one leg remaining.

Former League Champion Mark 99Ranny Ranson is also miracle-dodging, whilst the third seat is still wide open with any one of Stewboi, kippery, ZoeRiZZ0 and the other members of the top 10 still in with a realistic chance of securing a last-ditch train ticket to Aspers in April.

1st JHobbit1 -- 725 points
2nd 99Ranny -- 646 points
3rd Stewboi -- 606 points
4th kippery -- 591 points

13th adygolf -- 531 points
14th Mrdroodle -- 528 points
15th TheSimian -- 522 points

17th BubbleCloud -- 522 points
18th bornTOflirt -- 522 points
19th nickhem1 -- 516 points
20th Essxhg -- 516 points

Of course, it's not do or die, as we're hosting three weekly satellites into the East End Live with the last few days creating four more victors, one of whom was JHobbit1, whose impressive form means he will have the luxury of selling one of his seats and bringing a little spending money to Olympic Park.

2nd Touagorimou -- $21.00
3rd myteamouse
4th seven7777777s
5th PhilNe2Q

As always, Wednesday is just as busy as Super Tuesday, not only with our $25+2.50 East End Live satellite, but also our Deepstack Mulligan and weekly Orange Belt Freerolls.

The Mulligan was taken down by Paul paul6543 Romain on this occasion. He earned 100 bonus Belt Points for being Purple Belt.

Mega Poker Series Nottingham

In just a few years, Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club has quickly established itself as the epicentre of live poker in the UK, playing host to some of the most popular festivals around including last year's inaugural Black Belt Nottingham Live.

This March 7-11, DTD are set to welcome the increasingly-popular Mega Poker Series, a series of £770+70 events with a 77,000 starting stack and 77-minute clock - seven heaven for those in search of a deep-stacked tournament at a reasonable price.

Of course, not everyone has the luxury of being able to buy in directly, which is why we're offering you the chance to qualify for as little as €0.22+0.02 on Black Belt Poker via the many satellites running throughout the week.

If you've already made efforts to win your seat, then don't fear as you have one more chance in our €80+8 No Limit Hold'em rebuy super satellite, scheduled for 20:00, Monday, February 27. The winning players will receive a package worth €1,500, including buy-in, accommodation and spending money.

To register, simply locate the tournament in the cardroom lobby at Land Based Events > Nottingham Mega Series > Mega Nottingham 2012 R/A ME or, alternatively, earn your seat by playing in one of our many feeders accessible via the Satellites tab. See here for a full schedule of the feeders.

After a successful outing in Vienna, the Mega Poker Series is gathering momentum as they head to Nottingham for what will surely be a hugely popular event. Black Belt Poker will be there in force with 2008 Irish Open Champion Neil Channing leading the way; will you be joining him?...

This event will also see Jerome Bradpiece going for gold and looking to win this week's Orange Belt Freeroll winners a handsome sum. Tomorrow, at 20:00, our Slice of the Action Freeroll will offer Orange Belts the chance to win a share in Jerome's action in Nottingham. In 2011, Sam Razavi won four players in excess of $16,000 when he became UKIPT Champion - now Jerome could repeat that gesture.

If you would like to play a satellite, but don't currently have an account at Black Belt Poker, then opening one couldn't be easier: simply download the poker client and follow the step-by-step process provided.

See here for all the details of the aforementioned event.

Seven Heaven in Leg Six

Although this week's Super Tuesday clashed with Valentine's Day, a credible 85 players either decided to ignore the romantic festivities entirely, or somehow slip away unnoticed from their other half to continue their sordid affair with the Black Belt Poker League.

If caught red-handed, only a dozen would have a legitimate defence - "But I won money…" - with Chris seven7777777s Brider in the strongest position having topped the charts for $116.91 worth of milk trays and flowers.

The final table was a rugged lineup, and one that differed entirely from last week. In particular, it was surprisingly Hobbitless, Adam JHobbit1 Saunders unable to make it four in a row after three connective appearances in Legs 3-5.

He did, finish high however - although short of the money - in 14th, whilst also noticeable in the teens were Leg 5 winner Darren TheZartog Meredith and reigning League Champion Mark bornTOflirt Atkinson in 17th and 16th respectively.

1st seven7777777s -- $116.91
2nd browndog0 -- $78.62
3rd russellhansen -- $59.50
4th nickhem1 -- $40.37
5th doochats -- $29.75
6th rattersbrfc -- $22.31
7th myteamouse -- $18.06
8th BoraBoraBoy -- $14.87
9th bas2604 -- 12.75
10th SchnauzerSoze04 -- $10.62
11th thehingster -- $10.62
12th adygolf -- $10.62

At the top of standings, JHobbit1 is the runaway leader and has all but cemented that East End Live seat with two legs remaining. It's therefore fortunate for the rest of the pack that we've added a further three seats, including one for the Second Chance SNG which will see all Leg winners do battle at the felt.

1st JHobbit1 -- 623 points
2nd 99Ranny -- 560 points
3rd Stewboi -- 543 points
4th TheZartog -- 540 points
5th Sarannedipity -- 532 points
6th ZoeRiZZ0 -- 517 points
7th kippery -- 515 points
8th AlRawling -- 514 points
9th BoraBoraBoy -- 512 points
10th NPStars1 -- 505 points

A number of others are still in with a shout of, at the very least, winning Belt Points for a top 10 finish, including former Champion Bob myteamouse Bulman.

11th Mrdroodle -- 501 points
12th doochats -- 494 points
13th clevski1 -- 488 points
14th BubbleCloud -- 481 points
15th WiseOwlBB -- 479 points
16th paul6543 -- 478 points
17th tristiano -- 469 points
18th whosurmama -- 467 points
19th myteamouse -- 465 points
20th BoatDrink -- 459 points

The League isn't the only route to Olympic Park; every week we're serving up four guaranteed seats in our weekly qualifiers. The results this week were as follows:

Monday, $15+1.5 freezeout, 21 runners:

1st RykanShadow -- East End Live seat ($200+20)
2nd PhilNe2Q -- $42.75
3rd violentshark -- $28.50
4th Lidg1 -- $14.25
5th The8ofSpades -- $9.50

Tuesday, $5+0.50 rebuy, 21 runners:

1st vinsangel -- East End Live seat ($200+20)
2nd 7onyB -- $29.25
3rd ACarey -- $19.50
4th Touagorimou -- $9.75
5th insider66666 -- $6.50

Wednesday, $25+2.5 freezeout, 12 runners:

1st Quasar999 -- East End Live seat ($200+20)
2nd Lidg1 -- East End Live seat ($200+20)
3rd NPenfold666
4th paul6543
5th brigal19

If that wasn't enough, 80 Orange and Purple Belts took a stab in last night's East End Freeroll. The winner was Andy Mrdroodle Erskine.

1st Mrdroodle -- East End Live seat ($200+20)
2nd NPStars1 -- East End Live satellite ($25+2.50)
3rd JHobbit1 -- East End Live satellite ($25+2.50)
4th NPenfold666 -- East End Live satellite ($25+2.50)

21 stumped up the $15+1.50 buy-in for the Deepstack Mulligan. Kevin S0lution Birt was one of them, but was denied a fourth consecutive win by PhilNe2Q who cashed for $126.00, as well as 50 bonus Belt Points.

1st PhilNe2Q -- $126.00 (50 Special Points)
2nd violentshark -- $85.05 (30 Special Points)
3rd ChipRead77 -- $47.25 (10 Special Points)
4th HesGot2Aces -- $31.50 (5 Special Points)
5th xxMohicanxx -- $25.20 (5 Special Points)

There's a lot happening on Black Belt Poker over the coming weeks, including our inaugural Grab a Grand Freeroll on March 8, and our satellites into Samurai - a recently announced quarterly $250+25 deepstack event with a $10,000 guaranteed. Every satellite guarantees a seat - see here for more details.

Purple Patch; Zartog Strikes Back

Garfield and Geldof's disapproval of Mondays was left in severe doubt this week as Black Belt Poker proudly announced their latest extravaganza: the Black Belt East End Live, braced to grace London's Aspers Casino this April 20-22.

But before the tour bus makes its latest stop, there is the usual dose of value to be had in the highly acclaimed Black Belt Poker League, this time serving up an incredible four seats into a Live Event from the 2012 calendar.

Ineivtably, the field increased to 111 as players began eyeing up an East End Live seat, fully aware that even if they hadn't played the four previous legs, they could still taste first prize in the Second Chance SNG featuring all eight leg winners.

The latest addition to that lineup is Purple Belt Darren TheZartog Meredith, who turned a tournament token into a $138.80 payday after toppling Tristan tristiano Chaplin heads-up. Also sqeezing onto the final table was Blue Belt Jamie StilettoMafiosa Burland.

1st TheZartog -- $138.80
2nd tristiano -- $94.35
3rd beatyouto -- $72.15
4th 99Ranny -- $51.33
5th ChipRead77 -- $36.07
6th Mrdroodle -- $29.13

13th 10Royals -- $11.65
14th whosurmama -- $11.65
15th sprinterz -- $11.65

Victory meant that TheZartog leapt into sixth place to give himself a genuine chance of going to the East End Live the old fashioned way and snapping up one of the free Main Event seats for finishing in the top three. And he's not the only one; a plethora of names can still lap up a star prize including former Champion Mark 99Ranny Ranson and Andy MrDroodle Erskine who both final-tabled in fourth and sixth respectively.

But despite their progress, the in-form man is clearly former League Champion Adam JHobbit1 Saunders who padded his lead up top with a ninth place finish, and a third consecutive final table after finishing fourth last week, and seventh in leg 3. He boasts 551 points, and is only a solid performance or two away from cementing his seat.

1st JHobbit1 -- 551 points
2nd kippery - 510 points
3rd 99Ranny -- 492 points
4th Sarannedipity -- 489 points
5th Stewboi -- 486 points
6th TheZartog -- 471 points
7th NPStars1 -- 465 points
8th Mrdroodle -- 462 points
9th AlRawling -- 461 points
10th ZoeRiZZ0 -- 444 points
11th BubbleCloud -- 433 points
12th paul6543 -- 433 points
13th BoraBoraBoy -- 430 points
14th clevski1 -- 428 points
15th WiseOwlBB -- 415 points
16th whosurmama -- 412 points
17th BoatDrink -- 407 points
18th doochats -- 403 points
19th tristiano -- 402 points
20th TeeDeeEye1 -- 401 points

The League isn't the only path to Westfield; every week, Black Belt Poker host three satellites from as little as $5+0.50 and with four seats guaranteed. Winners so far include:

Peter Touagorimou Brown
Mark russellhansen Brassington
Tony 7onyB Booth
Jemma LillJem Pateman

For those interesting in terms such as value, EV and so on, then look no further, as all three satellites enjoyed an overlay, including Wednesday's qualifier which saw a juicy $140 added. We'll be offering the same deal next week, so don't miss out.

On the following night, those with a sexual appetite stayed in for an orgy, specifically of the Omaha variety, as our latest Orange Belt Freeroll churned out another four winners. They'll all be playing in various Omaha events over the coming days and looking to turn an investment of nothing into a big, giant something.

1st ourkidsid -- $100+0 Monday Night Omaha seat
2nd maffew1 -- $50+5 $500 GTD Omaha seat
3rd PKRLocke -- $20+2 Monday Night Omaha satellite seat
4th sixnout -- $20+2 Monday Night Omaha satellite seat

And closing things out nicely, would you please bring your hands together for Kevin S0lution Birt, who last night completed a quite astonishing trio of victories in the Mulligan, winning his third on the trot and adding a further $126.00 to the kitty.

1st S0lution -- $126.00 (50 Community Points)
2nd TableKnight -- $85.05 (30 Community Points)

4th slapdash1248 -- $31.50 (5 Community Points)
5th generalshifty -- $25.20 (15 Community Points)

Join us next week for more satellites, more freerolls, more League, and more of Kevin Birt winning the Mulligan.

Black Belt Live: Become Earl of the East End

The Summer Olympics may be fast approaching, but before treating us to the world's finest archers, canoers and equestrian jumpers, London will showcase the best in poker with its most exciting event of the year: the Black Belt East End Live.

The East End Live will span three days from April 20-22 with players choosing from two starting days before advancing to Sunday when the remaining field will battle it out for the illustrious title and the largest slice of a $75,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Playing host for Black Belt Poker's inaugural venture into East London will be the Aspers Casino in Stratford. Located in the country's largest shopping centre and just a stone's throw from the iconic Olympic Stadium, Aspers was erected in 2011 and boasts a 65,000 square foot casino and a 24/7 poker room.

Now is your chance to take Aspers by storm and become Earl of the East End.

The East End Live will be a $200+20 No Limit Hold'em freezeout with a 45-minute clock and a 20,000 starting stack*, meaning that players can enjoy a deep-stacked tournament at an affordable price.

"We're really pleased to be heading to Apsers for our latest Black Belt Live event," commented Black Belt Poker co-founder Neil Channing. "It's a great venue in a thriving area. You might not be able to get a ticket for the Olympics, but you can take your seat at the East End Live. And we'll be better value too!"

At the last Black Belt Live event in Nottingham, Stuart 'The Dyson' Hyson left Dusk Till Dawn with the $15,000 first prize, as well as an additional $1,600 for being an Orange Belt and eliminating a cash bounty. But who will take the gold medal this time around?...

If you haven't attended a Black Belt Live event before and want to know what all the fuss is about, then now is your chance! Come join in the fun and play one of the most enjoyable, affordable, and deep-stacked tournaments on the poker calendar.

Registration will open in the next day or two with a 200 player cap on each starting day.

Of the 182 warriors who have entered the League battlefield, only one can hold the number one spot, that man being the first ever League Champion Adam JHobbit1 Saunders. Consecutive final tables means he leads by an impressive 29 points after below-par performances from kippery (32nd) and AlRawling (48th). However, with three BBP Live seats up for grabs and four legs remaining, there's still plenty to play for.
