All-Rounders All Rounders

These guys are like capeless superheroes - poker-related jobs by day, on the felt (virtual or real) by night. Above: Jimi Sotimehin, one of the most even-tempered players around, long absent from the tournament circuit and overdue a shot at a big title. When I was a youngster dealing in the Gutshot, I remember thinking there were few players there who matched the all-round sense their dealer Jimi talked about the game, and especially his attitude towards the gambling life. Managing to merge the "been there, done that," with a still-felt love for the game of poker, he says today he's enjoying himself sandwiched between Tony Phillips and Freddy Deeb. "I had a great rock image," he said, "But then I started playing a few more pots, had to show down something [this must have been some filth of some kind but he didn't elaborate]. Now I'm getting looked up all over the place."

Marc Convey, blogger and Euro-trotter, has been at all the major tournaments you can get to on Easyjet for the last couple of years. Superkeen and always bubbling online qualifiers, we're glad he's gone for this one anyway and wish him luck, even though it looks like the spaceman on his shirt is giving us the finger.
