Sievwright Is the Mane Man in Leg 7

Seven heaven arrived on our doorstep last Tuesday as the penultimate leg of the latest Black Belt Poker League brought us yet another night of poker fun and frolics.

On this occasion, it was a loyal Orange Belt who reigned supreme, as Black Belt Poker stalwart Malcom lionrampant27 Sievwright tangoed his way to victory with a roaring performance to snap up the lion's share of the $395 prize pool.

Okay. No more puns.

79 dipped into their pockets for a five-dollar bill, including several cashers from the recent East End Live: Mark Cursonator Curson, Carey CareybearBBP Hollick and finalist Jon RykanShadow White to name but three. And reigning Champion Adam JHobbit1 Saunders - who was a lucky recipient of one of Channing's Orange Ticket spot prizes - was once again prominent, supplementing his eighth place finish last week with yet another final table appearance this time around.

1st  lionrampant27 -- $118.52
2nd  donquann -- $79.00
3rd  myteamouse -- $59.25
4th  BoatDrink -- $39.50
5th  JHobbit1 -- $29.62
6th  diiscostu -- $21.72
7th  losbert40 -- $17.77
8th  bas2604 -- $15.80
9th  cheekyweeguy -- $13.82

The result didn't shake up the top spots with the leading trio all finishing in the top 25. Although David liquidpoker101 Manders has all but sealed his Samurai seat, second place is still vulnerable with BoatDrink joining sandy1611 on 472 points, and the likes of ourkidsid and former Champion myteamouse just a few points behind.

1st  liquidpoker101 -- 514 points
2nd  10Royals -- 493 points
3rd  sandy1611 -- 472 points
4th  BoatDrink -- 472 points
5th  ourkidsid -- 461 points
6th  myteamouse -- 459 points
7th  ChipRead77 -- 443 points

18th  S0lution -- 392 points
19th  Touagorimou -- 391 points
20th  bagpussrocks -- 385 points

The following night, a hefty 33 took a stab at the Deepstack Mulligan, Dave deadlydaveLDN Eames purchasing a token from the Black Belt Poker Store and turning it into a tasty $183.16. En route, he defeated a tough lineup, including Black Belt and 2008 Irish Open Champion Neil Channing who finished second.

1st  deadlydaveLDN -- $183.16 (50 Belt Points)
2nd  NeilChanning -- $123.75 (150 Belt Points)
3rd  TheIronUK -- $74.25 (10 Belt Points)
4th  SvenBenson66 -- $49.50 (5 Belt Points)
5th  CareybearBBP -- $37.12 (5 Belt Points)
6th  nickhem1 -- $27.22
This week's Orange Belt Freeroll proved incredible value once again with just 44 players fighting over a Samurai seat worth $250+25. After the dust had settled and the smoke cleared, it was Chris SchnauzerSoze04 Cope who struck gold. He'll now compete for a guaranteed $10,000 prize pool on Thursday, May 3.

1st  SchnauzerSoze04 -- Samurai seat ($250+25)
2nd  WiseOwlBB -- Samurai satellite token ($30+3)
3rd  UliKoko-- Samurai satellite token ($8+0.80)
4th  Ruaction -- Samurai satellite token ($8+0.80)

Also joining him will be James JimmyTheBhoy Carrigan. Despite the presence of qualifiers nicenutter and 4KSuited, Carrigan came out smelling or roses in Thursday's $30+3 super satellite, whilst Mulligan winner deadlydaveLDN received a refund in second.

1st  JimmyTheBhoy -- Samurai seat ($250+25)
2nd  deadlydaveLDN -- $33.00
3rd  4KSuited -- $33.00
4th  TheSimian -- $33.00
5th  WiseOwlBB -- $33.00
6th  nicenutter -- $13.00

With East End Live safely in the bag, and the league approaching its eighth and final leg, attention is now starting to focus on the upcoming Samurai. Direct registration is now available via the client, but keep your eyes on the lobby next week for a nice selection of satellites and feeders.

Win a Free Seat into iPOPS Main Event

In less than a week's time, the iPOPS mini festival will be returning for its second outing and once again delivering a spectacular one million in combined prize pools across just five tournaments.

The opening event will be a $100+9 No Limit Hold'em freezeout with a juicy $200,000 guarantee, taking place at 18:00 on Sunday, April 29.

In an exclusive offer, anyone who plays Event #1 through Black Belt Poker will automatically be entered into a last-longer, in which the top 10 finishers will win a free seat into the iPOPS Main Event.

They say if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is, but this is the exception to the rule and your chance to compete for an incredible $500,000 prize pool in iPoker's biggest event of the year.
The buy-in for the Main Event will be $125+15 with kick-off scheduled for 18:00 on Sunday, May 6. When the final 27 players are reached, play will be paused and continue to a conclusion at the Gran Casino in Barcelona in June alongside the iPOPS Live Open.

It's an i-popping offer, but it's only available to Black Belt Poker players. If you don't already have an account, then creating one is easy. Simply download the cardroom software by clicking here
and follow the step-by-step process provided.

The event can be located in the tournament lobby via iPOPS > iPOPS #1 $200,000 GP. Select register and either buy in using funds from your account, or utilise a token purchased from the Black Belt Poker Store.

If you can't make Event #1, you can still play the Main Event for free. In yet another value-added offer, if you satellite your way into the first four events via Black Belt Poker, then we'll dip into our pockets and buy you into Event #5.

Satellites for all events are now running with buy-ins from as little 11 cents. Click here for the full schedule for iPOPS and its satellites: http://www.blackbeltpoker.com/promotions/ipops-ii/
In 2011, the inaugural iPOPS witnessed a near $200,000 overlay, and this year is expected to be no different with players feasted on more added money than any other network. If you want to take advantage, then make sure you join us on Black Belt Poker for the opening event.

Sonny Day for Pomroy at East End Live

The Black Belt Live tour bus stopped at the Aspers Casino, Stratford this weekend for the inaugural Black Belt East End Live, a $200+20 freezeout with a deep structure and $75,000 guarantee.

After a quickfire final table, it was 20-year old Sonny Pomroy who emerged triumphant, besting a field of 391 to capture the illustrious title and comedy cheque worth $13,300.

The field was an eclectic mix of pros and amateurs alike, with community members getting to lock horns with seasoned veterans such as Neil Channing, Surinder Sunar and even the legendary Yilfer 'Mr. Bond' Shevket.

They were joined by reigning League Champion Adam 'The Hobbit' Saunders and Nottingham Live winner Stuart 'The Dyson' Hyson, who was hoping to suck up the chips and become the first ever Black Belt Live multiple champion.

The final table was tougher than a two-dollar steak and included Black Belt and WSOP bracelet winner Richard 'Chufty' Ashby, as well as chip leader and online pro Sonny Pomroy.

Seat 1: Sonny Pomroy -- 1,471,000
Seat 2: Richard Lindsey -- 317,000
Seat 3: Dhaval Rajani -- 440,000
Seat 4: Jon White -- 326,000
Seat 5: Elliot Aspden -- 828,00
Seat 6: Andrew Lidgey -- 732,000
Seat 7: Paul Hempseed -- 1,056,000
Seat 8: Richard Ashby -- 379,000
Seat 9: Sam Lawsey -- 398,000

The final table was a brief affair with players falling like dominoes in the wind. After Lindsey became the first to walk the poker plank, there began a demolition derby in which Dhaval Rajani took out three consecutive players: Lawsey, Lidgey and White, the latter of whom added 10 percent to his prize due to being an Orange Belt.

After a plucky fight that would have made Rocky look like a wimp, Ashby fell in fifth when his K-Qo was unable to improve against Pomroy's 5-5. Aspden then disposed of Hempseed in fourth (Q-Q versus 8-8) to leave us with three.

Rajani was the next to munch dust, moving all in on a 5s-Kc-9s flop with Qs-Ts against Aspden's 9c-7s. Despite his numerous outs, the turn and river came blankety blank and it was time take him off the campfire - he was done.

Heads-up and it was closer than a Manchester title race, Pomroy a nostril hair in front with 3 million chips to Aspden's 2.9. However, within 30 minutes, the Fat Lady was belting out her favourite tune as Pomroy's A-4 held against K-7 to secure the win.

Making his debut at a Black Belt Poker event, Pomroy is a poker pro of three years who plays mainly online MTTs with the occasional ventures live. He's also the brother of high stakes pro David 'Dpommo' Pomroy, a fierce online phenom who attracted a lot of attention a few years ago.

"I feel really good, obviously, but shattered too," commented Pomroy just moments before his first trip to the bar. "I'm used to playing 15 tables online, but I didn't get bored. I was in the zone and didn't remove my headphones the whole time.

"The structure of the event was really good and you got so much play. For example, a lot of tournaments go from 1K/2K straight to 1.5K/3K, but here we had a 1.2K/2.4K level. It makes a big difference. It was a great tournament."

The East End Live was a roaring success with positive reviews all around, and our thanks go out to the staff at Aspers Casino for all their hard work, as well as all the players who made the journey to Stratford at the ungodly hour of noon.

However, as one tournament ends, another one is announced, and we can exclusively reveal that our next Live event will be Nottingham Live II at Dusk Till Dawn on August 10-12. We hope to see you there.

East End Live Bounties: Paint It Black

The waiting is finally over; in just over 12 hours, the Black Belt Live train will be making it's first ever stop in Stratford for the East End Live, a $200+20 deep-stacked tournament with a 15,000 starting stack and 40-minute blinds.

As with previous events, we're going coco-nuts with our bounties by serving up a total of 16 scalps to vie for, with 8 entering Day 1A with a red target on the chest.

Three of those will be our Black Belts: Richard Ashby, Sam Razavi and Neil Channing, all of whom will be seeking to prove their Belt status and end the three-day tournament with their Bounty Bar in tact.

Joining them in the 'dangerzone' are online pro Nik Persaud, Academy mentor Alex Rousso, and Brown Belt Warren Wooldridge, the latter of whom earned his Belt when he came third in a $1,000 WSOP Event last year for $288,946.

Hitting the felt alongside the aforementioned celebrities will be League XIII Champion Adam JHobbit1 Saunders, who - along with runner-ups Mark 99Ranny Ranson and Stewart Stewboi Morrison - won a seat to a Black Belt Live event of his choosing.

A hugely popular figure, Adam has competed in all Black Belt Live events (including a cash in Nottingham), and will likely be appearing at the next event after winning a second seat in our weekly Orange Belt Freerolls.

Last, but certainly not least, is reigning Black Belt Live Champion Stuart Hyson, affectionately nicknamed The Dyson after his innate ability to suck up the chips in Nottingham.

Stuart won a total of $15,500 at Dusk Till Dawn, which included an additional $1,500 courtesy of his Orange Belt: 10 percent added to his prize, and $100 for eliminating Nick Wealthall. Now Stuart has the perhaps unenviable honour of being a bounty himself, and offering a taste of paradise to anyone who dares to remove him from the event.

This time, prizes will be centred on our upcoming Samurai event on Thursday, May 3:

Yellow Belt: 2 x Samurai satellite tokens ($8+0.80)
Orange Belt: $100 and Samurai satellite token ($30+3)
Purple Belt+: entry into Samurai ($250+25)

Eastenders is known for it's cliffhangers; now is your chance to be in an East End cliffhanger of your own as we brace ourselves for tomorrow's opening day. The action starts at 12:00 and there will be live updates available over the course of the event on our tournaments page.

See here for a Q&A of East End Live.

Cox Rocks Legs 6

Leg 6 is where the men are sorted from the boys (and women from girls), so it was of no great surprise that 83 rolled up last Tuesday for the Black Belt Poker League in search of some much-needed momentum as the home straight nears.

Within the field lay several former Champions, all eager to dispel any flash-in-the-pan accusations; their fortunes were mixed: whilst russellhansen floundered in 67th, RedKiteBlackBelt and TeeDeeEye1 enjoyed aboved-average performances in 35th and 26th respectively, whilst the ever-consistent myteamouse and JHobbit1 both made the money.

Soaking up the most spondoolies was Matthew The8Spades Cox, who saw $114.17 hit his cyber account after disposing of RiverSiren heads-up. Just one spot behind, however, was last week's winner Mark DConTour1 Cartwright, who cushioned his wallet with a further $58.10.

1st The8ofSpades -- $114.17
2nd RiverSiren -- $76.77
3rd DConTour1 -- $58.10
4th Speighty84 -- $39.42
5th griffyid7777 -- $29.05
6th 4KSuited -- $21.78
7th liquidpoker101 -- $17.63
8th JHobbit1 -- $14.52
9th mikeymixitup -- $12.45
10th ourkidsid -- $10.37
11th JosseWales -- $10.37
12th myteamouse -- $10.37

Sean 10Royals Lassman's 47th place finish means he's slipped on a temporary banana skin and allowed liquidpoker101 to take over throne-sitting duties; he drops into second with sandy1611 creeping up behind in third.

1st liquidpoker101 -- 447 points
2nd 10Royals -- 436 points
3rd sandy1611 -- 403 points
4th ChipRead77 -- 400 points
5th ourkidsid -- 396 points

Our 'regular' satellites may have come to an end, but this week we're offering players one last-ditch attempt to qualify for the inaugural East End Live and compete for a $75,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Tomorrow (Wednesday, April 18) at 20:00, we're hosting a $35+3 Mega Satellite with a generous 7 seats guaranteed into the $200+20 Main Event. The event can be located in the tournament lobby under Black Belt Tournaments.

What's more, we're also providing a $5+0.50 satellite into tomorrow's Mega with 15 seats guaranteed, meaning you can potentially become the first ever East End Live Champion for just over a fiver! The action kicks off tonight, at 20:00.

Also taking place this evening is Leg 6 of the Black Belt Poker League, in which the top two over the course of the eight legs will earn free entry into the $250+25 Samurai on Thursday, May 3.

If you're worried that you're too far behind, then don't fret, as each leg winner earns entry into a Second Chance SNG with the winner joining the League leaders in the Samurai. This means you can play just one leg and still win the star prize!

The League starts at 19:30, and costs just $5+0.50 to enter.

Good luck in both of tonight's events, particularly the Mega feeder. With a 15,000 starting stack and 40-minute clock, this is your chance to play a fun-filled, yet affordable tournament with the feel of a major event.
