Bentham Gets Crabs. Outlook: It's Kirton's For Him.

Heads-Up Champion from yesterday, Tom Bentham has been knocked out of the main event. The board was reading 6s-9h-6d-Qs-3d with a large amount of the chips already in the middle and he moved in on the river with Hugh Kirton make an swift call. Bentham flipped 3c-3s for the rivered house, but as Roy Schneider once said, "We're gonna need a bigger boat!" Bentham was eliminated as Kirton turned over 9s-9d for the flopped house.

At the break, I briefly spoke to Karl Mahrenholz who said, "I've dribbled away 2,000 so far so now I'm on the traditional starting stack. I've yet to win a pot..."

And that looks set to continue as he raised a couple of limpers from the small blind, with just one calling, before firing a continuation bet of 800 at a Ks-8d-7d flop, he was quickly raised to 3,000 and forced to let it go. Still waiting to win a pot...

Nicky Evans was the chip leader at the first break on 33,000.
