Having created an image for himself (OK more like annihilated it) Hugh Kirton now raised preflop with Qc-Qs. Chris Bjorin in the small blind made it 16,900 (from 4,900). Over to Kirton who solemnly judged that this was now shoving time, and after a brief dwell did it - his whole stack totalling just under 40k. Bjorin made the call with the speculative 8d-9d.
Flop: 8c-Js-Tc (could that be any better for Bjorin? OK, could have had some diamonds...) The turn made the straight with the 7c and the river came 6d sending a disappointed Hugh to the rail.
Elsewhere:
Tony Dobson, having whittled his stack down to just 30k ish doubles off James Akenhead who raises on the button with Ac-9c and then calls his sb shove pre with A-J off, which holds.
Robert Lim accepts glass of free wine, asking in characteristically hyperactive fashion, "So do we get champagne for the final table? Got to ask."
