They're doing that weird thing where they stop the clock at 15 minutes and play a set number of hands - chosen by the draw of a random card. Walsall winner Sunny Chattha draws a Five, so that's how many hands are left in the tournament tonight.
Well, seeing as press are out of the floor area, I'll just inform you of the last developments I witnessed before slinking from the Vic, watching half an episode of South Park and going to sleep in preparation for tomorrow's Day Two.
Chris Moorman, who was pessimistically asking in the break how many minutes it would be before he busted in the last level, is still in, although very short stacked now after yet another shove over one of his preflop raises - this time from Vicky Coren whose stack has also shrunk (to 27k). This was still more than Moorman had, and he let go of his 2,750 p/f raise.
Neil Channing is in a cash game, and I therefore deduce that he is OUT.
Sunny and Chaz Chattha have spent the last minutes of the tournament on the same table, sitting opposite each other. That's exactly the position Stu and Tom Rutter spent those uncomfortable first few levels in. What are the chances?
Daniel Patel is Busto running short-stacked pockets (Fives) into some last-minute Aces.
Kenneth Spence, Andreas Hagen, and Luke Trotman are just a few players to have broken 100k today. I am going to guess that the Day 1B chip leader will have around 140k. Chris is still tenaciously hanging onto the rail for the final hand so I will give him the under on that and wager his hoodie.
I am too sleepy to write a serious final post for tonight, so I am leaving that to Homer. Please enjoy this pensive Peter Leeper as the final seconds of play tick away, though.
