Our final match just ended with Tom Bentham finishing off Neil Channing after an interesting match, which saw the final damage done when Bentham hit a straight on the turn with the board ending up 3-5-6-4-K (no flush). His 3,600 river bet was eventually paid by Channing who shook his head several times before mucking, and although I think I saw a flash of paint (King?) Nicky says he saw a flash of Deuce. So no comment on his actual holding. "Good bet," he admitted, before waiting the three or four hands which decorum prescribes before moving his last 2k in preflop with 3h 3d. Bentham's Kh Jd was in OK racing shape.
The flop brought 6s-Th-Qc. "Jesus," muttered a weary Channing. He wasn't on his side though, as the turn brought the 9c leaving him dead on the 8d river. A handshake and some rail mingling later and this first thrilling instalment of the Heads Up Tournament comes to an end.
But join me tomorrow from 3pm as the same guys (minus half of them) do it all over again. Over and out.
