Starting in an ever more timely fashion, the Heads Up Tournament today progresses all the way to the Semis. Four players remain in contention for the £20k top spot, all believe that they are the favourite to win, too.
Slightly more rested than his marathon-running opponent Richard Gryko today is James 'Flushy' Dempsey, who's taken the first pot over 2k of the afternoon, out-flopping Gryko's Nines with what looked like J-K. He doesn't seem like he's in a folding-pre-to-re-raises mood today.
Over on table Bentham-Nankoosing, no major shifts in chips. A sequence of hands saw Tom Bentham take a calling-for-victory approach which has paid off some hundreds - first he check-called Nankoosing on a flop of As-Qs-9c, and after they both checked a 5s turn bet out 150 on the 5d river. Nankoosing raised to 375 which he quickly called to chop with A-2 vs A-3. Next, Bentham checked it down after raising preflop until the board read 5-3-Q-K-2, but called Nankoosing's river bet of 175 with Ah-5h, good against a having-a-go-at-it 3d-7d.
With a whole 20,000 chips to play with today, the potential for a couple of exhausting matches is clearly there. Lucky the March Two will get three days off to recover before taking each other on in the Final...
