25,000 chips have been set neatly in front of two of the Vic's more comfortable chairs, the cards spread expertly, the £30,000 left to play for (£20k for the Champ) waits in limbo... it's like a poker still life here in the quiet barside tournament area as Tom Bentham and Richard Gryko hold off their arrival until the 15th hour. Both have battled through three matches to get here, and one of them will soon be in possession of the Heads Up trophy.
Tom Bentham has shown himself relentlessly efficient at dispatching his opponents with the minimum of fuss while the implacable Richard Gryko wins the Noisiest Railers prize while putting his more restless opponents on time tilt and pretending that he can't hear anything from beneath his ipod. It's going to be an interesting, possibly lengthy match - who will take it down?
And here they come - hands are shaken, seats immediately taken and we're off!
