(left) Kristian Asknes, who you probably haven't heard of, but recently won Betsson Estoril Live in Portugal for around €100,000 and got a free seat to this competition as a result. He's sitting next to (right) Adam Stoneham, one of just a handful of Brits who has managed to win the Pokerstars Sunday Million tournament. Expect fireworks...
For example, I saw a pot being chopped on an A-Q-2-4-K board (more or less accurate - this was a fleeting glimpse) where both Asknes and Stoneham showed down 3-4. Intrigued, I saw the following hand involving the same two players plus button Hugh Kirton. The flop of 2h-5c-Qc saw an 800 bet out from Asknes, called by Stoneham; Kirton passed. The turn and river - 3s-9s - were both checked, and Asknes gave up on the river before his opponent showed his As-2c for bottom pair.
