Wasal the Fuss About?
We have an early chip leader, that's what, in the shape of Satnam Sandhu-Wasal...
He helpfully filled me in on his first double-up himself, which also saw the exit of Jonathan McCann. Having called a small button raise preflop with good old 7-9 offsuit, he caught a 7-9-J flop (two of a suit). He checked, the button bet, he raised, the button raised yet again; Satnam went for it - all in - called by a flush draw which missed.
Just now another casualty fell to him - Woody Deck. I caught this hand from the turn, when Woody had put in a hefty bet/raise (hard to say - he was out of position) of 3,050. Sandhu-Wasal thought for quite a while, studying the Jc-Kc-Kh-9s board, but eventually made the call.
The river was the 9d and the action went as if in Fast Forward: Sandhu-Wasal check...Woody all in... S-W instantly call, saying, "I have a Nine." And he did, and it was good. His stack is now a fantastic 39,000!
